Henry 6.5 Creedmore...really

I’ll throw my humble $.02 in. There is one place that a high pressure bottle neck cartridge shooting CF lever gun shines. That is for a guy who hunts on horseback a lot. A slim lever gun rides in a saddle scabbard smoother and easier than a bolt gun. Having that nice carrying configuration in a capable long range cartridge is a good option in most horse hunting country.

That is about the only reason I can see for owning a long ranger, BLR or a Savage 99. Of course some folks just like lever guns so there’s that. I’ve heard good things about the long ranger as far as function and accuracy. Would I own one in 6.5 Creedmoor? Hard to say but it would make a nice deer, antelope gun for the horseman hunter.

This right here. I'm hearing levers are gaining traction in popularity and being able to offer this century performance is a good way to cash in on that. If I didn't already have a long ranger in 243 I'd be strongly considering one. Excited to see how far a guy can push out with one, the old adage that lever guns are inaccurate doesn't seem to hold as true with ones designed like the long ranger, BLR, and savage 99. If they can ever get close to performing like a bolt gun I'd be a very happy camper.
My stepdad uses a bolt 22-250 from a seated position with an attached bipod with extra long legs for coyotes and after trying it I would feel very confident doing the same with my long ranger.

I have no interest for one, but I appreciate when a company offers what the buyers ask for.

Does this offering make any sense? I am sure it does for some. Horse riders is a good example that was given by H&H.

Still hope Cabela's will import the single shot in Canada.

I took a long, hard look at a BLR in 7-08 a couple years ago. Haven't handled a Henry, but if it handles similarly, I could see myself having one for close to medium woods hunting. I'd never use it as a LR round, but a 140 SP at Swede velocities would be good medicine for woods deer with some reach for the occasional clearcut or power line in a light recoiling package. Kinda like the .250 Savage from wayback when.

The proof will be “in the pudding”, as they used to say.
If it shoots up to expectations of the Creed, it’ll make it. I adore my BLR in .358win, but despise its dragging, mushy trigger.

Given that this afternoon I saw two 6.5Creeds in the display at the local Walmart, and more ammo choices than for 7mm-08, I believe it’s here to stay. Though not either a fan or foe, it does deliver what it promises. IMO, better than the .243 and more pleasant to shoot than 7mm or .300mags.
Just a junior .270. But that ain’t bad!
But, I’ll part with my .260Rem LONG before I’ll bequeath my 7mm-08 or ‘06’s.

Wish that didn't have a straight stock.

I prefer bolt guns to any other action type, but I still want a few lever funs. One with more legs than a .30-30 (blr or LR if they come out with a sporter gripped stock), one in .44, and one in .45-70 (both Henry's or at least the .45-70).

Answering the non straight grip and more legs simultaneously ;)
