Hey guys, I have been away from the forum for a long time (new job, new house, life turned upside down, you know!) and lately I have been wanting to buy a bolt action .22 similar to what my father has had since he was a kid.

The Henry Acu-Bolt looks like the rifle for me:

I am just curious if anyone on the board has one and what they think of it.

EDIT: One thing I forgot to mention was, I was a bit dissapointed to see that it is single shot. I am used to somthing that has a tube that holds at least 10 rounds at a time.

Thanks in advance!

I was actually just looking at the Marlin 980S right before I came back over here. I assume the 981 is in the same series? Looks like the Marlin might be a better choice.

.22

I purchased my son the Henry single shot in stainless, with stainless scope package. The combo is really quite accurate. Target rifle accurate. Fine rifle in my opinion - but expensive. I believe the package retails for over $300 suggested retail. You may beat that price but not by much. At 25 yards it will shoot smaller than dime size groups with Walmart bulk ammo.

Thanks for all of the suggestions and great advice! I think I am leaning towards the Marlin for the multi-round capability over the Henry.
