All,

Need some input on quality. They are all the same price. I like the feel of the 63, the simplicity of the 62 carbine and the heft of the Henry.

I have found that semi .22lr firearms and I dont get along very well, so I am leaning towards the 62 and lever actions, but the 63 sure is nice feeling. This will probably be somewhat a temporary fix for a .22 rifle as I am waiting a few months for the left hand versions of the CZ 425 American to be released.

I have both and like them fine. If you want a scope you want the Henry. For casual shooting either will do. I think my Henry is a bit more accurate than the Rossi pump gun. If limited to one I would likely opt for the lever gun. But I like having both. As for quality, they both seem well-made to me and I have no complaints at this point.

Yup, call them and they'll send you a metal one for a small fee.

The Henry is a very well made gun with beautiful wood. They really seem to take pride in their products.

That's the entry level Henry, the Golden boy uses metal.

I own, or have owned all of these rifles. I kept the Henry Golden boy and the Taurus 62. (the 63 suffered from mediocre accuracy) The overall quality on these rifles is good. The accuracy is adequate for casual plinking, but for real quality, and out of the box accuracy wait for the CZ.

Don't just settle for the American. Handle the Lux, Varmint, and American. They are all accurate, it just depends which one feels best to you.

I can't speak to the Henry and the 63, but I love my Taurus 62. It's one of my most fun guns. I got the "youth" model carbine, which comes with two buttstocks fitted to the receiver. The smaller one is perfect for kids. I think I paid about $210 for it a year or so ago. It also came with a tang peep sight that was in the box, but I haven't mounted it. The stock barrel-mounted open sights are great for plinking.
