Anybody own a Henry Rifle 22LR? I already have a couple semi auto 22LR rifles, and was hoping to pickup a lever action. I know its not a 39A, but hey the price is right thats for certain.

Anybody have anything to say about them? Quality, fit, finish, reliability, accuracy? Would love yo hear your thoughts. Thanks all!

It's a handy and decent quality little rifle. There's going to be a lot of people who come along shortly saying buy a Marlin or buy a CZ so I'll just tell you about my experience with it. The action on mine and a few others I've handled are unbelievably smooth. I've fired at least 1,5000 rounds through mine and haven't had a failure to eject or any other mechanical problem. A few ammo problems but never the guns fault. The straight stock took just a little getting used to for me, I was used to semi-pistol grip. The wood is decent quality and the sites, at least for me, were dead on out of the box. Hit's exactly where I aim it and have taken a few pesky groundhogs with it.

As far as the drawbacks... Well the front band is made of plastic, you can get a metal one from Henry. The receiver cover is just painted metal. I've a rather large patch of missing paint on mine but it adds character IMO lol.

Overall it's a great little gun at a great price. Price seems to be climbing on them too. I picked mine up back in 2004 for $120 at Wally World. First gun I ever bought too.

Want a decent plinker or small game gun you can't beat the Henry IMHO. I've fed nothing but Winchester through mine since day one.

You can't go wrong with a Henry if the price is right for you. Since you already have a couple of .22s I'm sure the Henry would go great with the collection - they're always good looking guns.

I don't personally have a Henry .22 but I'm saving up for a Henry .45 or .38Spcl for CAS. For a .22 rifle I'm going to get a Marlin 60 soon. Don't own any rifles currently after a cross-country move, so time to re-arm myself!

I've got a Golden Boy in .22 Magnum. It's absolutely beautiful; action smooth as butter. I love the .22 Magnum cartridge, cheap to shoot and packs a wallop.

So, two thumbs up on Henry.

I have one and next to the 700LTR it is my second most accurate gun. The action is smooth and it is easy to attach optics too. BTW most people won't tell you but all henry's have barrels that are thick enough to be considered bull barrels.

I have the one with the octagonal barrel in .22LR. It's probably the most fun gun when it comes to plinking I've ever had. Beats out a Marlin 60 and a 10/22 in the fun department, hands down.

I've heard some good things, people generally seem to enjoy them. Go for it!

If you can find a used Marlin 39M Mountie, get that. It's a takedown, meaning you can put it in a backpack.:)

(Also all-steel, not a bit of painted aluminum or plastic on it)
