A little early, but it appears that an elderly man was assualted and defended himself with a firearm in Great Britain. Of course he is in jail while everyone prays for the recovery of the vermin that attacked him...

Roads in Pontrhydyfen were closed off on Saturday morning
A 67-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder, following a shooting in a south Wales village that has left a teenager in hospital.
The 19-year-old remains in a serious but stable condition at Swansea's Morriston Hospital after the incident in Pontrhydyfen, near Port Talbot at 0320 BST.
The 67-year-old was arrested about an hour after the victim was discovered, and has been interviewed by CID officers at Neath police station over the weekend.
He will appear before Neath magistrates on Monday morning.
Police have praised local people for the help they gave officers investigating the shooting.
Information received by the public led to an underwater search unit discovering a firearm in the River Afan.
Inspector Wynne Rowlands said they strongly believe this was involved in the shooting.
Roads in the village were blocked off until 1430 BST on Saturday.
The injured man, who was shot in the chest, is said to be responding well to treatment.
He has not yet been interviewed by police.

Teenager injured in shooting
A teenager has been injured in a shooting incident in South Wales.
A 69-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault which happened in Pontrhydyfen, in Port Talbot, at 3.20am today.
"During the incident a firearm was discharged and a 19-year-old man sustained injuries," a South Wales Police spokesman said.
"He is currently undergoing treatment at Morriston Hospital (in Swansea) where his condition is described as stable.
"A 69-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently being interviewed at Neath Police Station."

A 19-YEAR-OLD man was being treated in hospital last night after a shooting in a South Wales village.
Detectives investigating the incident yesterday closed off the village of Pontrhydyfen - the birthplace of actor Richard Burton.
The armed incident happened at 3.20am on Saturday, a short distance from the house in which Burton grew up. A firearm was recovered from the scene.
A 69-year-old man was yesterday being interviewed by CID officers at Neath police station - he has not been charged with any offence. The incident is understood to have happened in Station Road, close to the pensioner's home.
Roads in the village, which is about three miles north of Port Talbot, were blocked off by police until 2.30pm yesterday.
"We're investigating an assault in the early hours of Saturday morning, in which a firearm was discharged," said a spokesman for South Wales Police.
The injured man - who is also from the village - was being treated at Morriston Hospital in Swansea. His condition was last night said to be stable.
Local people have said they are shocked by events.
Councillor Malcolm Jones said: "The incident has stunned the village.
"This is not an area where we are used to any sort of violent incident. Our thoughts are with everyone involved and we hope that the young man hurt in the incident makes a full recovery.
"He is from the village and his family is very well-known so everyone is thinking of them.
"Everyone is talking about the incident although we don't know what happened exactly."
