heritiage arms .22 with red dot?

I have an older heritage arms revolver and I was thinking of using it to hunt squirrels and groundhogs. The iron sights that are on this are less than stellar. I see that heritage arms offers an adco illuminator scope with a base for $40. Anyone ever tried this? I figure it might be worth trying it but if I need something more expensive it quickly makes more sense to just buy a used 22 rifle instead.

What do you folks think?

My first thought was "what tha?", but I agree with Deltaboy (so forgive me ).

Although I have no experience with that Adco on the Heritage Arms web site.
