Hey Glock Owners

Used to own a G19 and a G23, but now have none.
Me likey SIGs.
But am pondering a G26, as I had a very positive experience shooting one recently.

G19--sitting in the safe, waiting for a new frame.
G23--Carry, when I don't feel like carrying a 1911 (which is rare).
G27--An ankle gun, when I can't carry any other way.
G21--Because it's in .45ACP, and one can never have enough of those.

bc:)

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought in another thread it was pointed out that your modification to the slide release of the G36 is responsible for the problems you have had with the G36.

The thing felt like a 2x4 in my hand.

I felt that way about a G34 that I shot a couple boxes through. The grip ergonomics were not quite right to me, but I could probably get used to it if I had to. As I was shooting it, I jammed it by hitting the extended mag release button a few times, but that was purely my fault. The gun was accurate, though.

I liked the G19 that I shot once, but not enough to want to give up my Sig P228.

I use my G-26 for back-up/ off-duty carry. It's accurate, reliable,holds 10+1 of full-power 9 mm,has trijicon N.S., weights about 20oz,and it's the size of a snubbie. What's not to like? If you want concealiblity use the flush mag,want a owb CCW-use a mag w/ grip ext., want a HD gun-use a G-19 mag w/ extention.

I don't own Glocks but if I could, it'd be two of each in the 17, 19, and 26. I love the 9s....;) I thought I could get the 36 because it's on our approved list in Massachusetts. The Attorney General doesn't think so -- and it's not for sale. This means if you have a Class B gun permit in this state like I do -- no Glocks for you. :fire: :cuss: :banghead:

A silly story. Any excuse to buy more guns, even ones I'm only casually interested in

Mine's a G-32.

Purchased to match a factory .40 G-22 barrel that a friend of mine with a hauling business got out of some guy's garage by accident I imagine. It was in a .50-call ammo can full of CLP, cleaning stuff, and an HK P-7 test target.

I said "A .40 Glock barrel! That's worth a hundred bucks at least! I got it for free, so that means a hundred-dollar discount on a brand new switch-barrel gun. Woo-hoo!"

Frustrated with my inability to order a Witness 10 mm, and before the advent of G-29's, I ordered a brand-new G-32 because it was on my list of "order it" guns, albeit down there a ways. I didn't really LIKE Glocks then, but I was frustrated. I told my dealer: "You can get one? Well order the darn thing. I can't get anything ELSE I want, it seems." (I also ordered a S&W 1066 as substitute-standard for the Witness. It showed up before the G-32, and it's a nice gun, but I still want that Witness. But no, not in MY stupid state.)

Now I love it. I put a 3.5# trigger bar in it, and it's a super-plinker. I really like 357 Sig, too. Neat caliber. This gun sold me on wanting a G-29, but I can't afford it until I get a job. (Now, of course, I have to replace My Porsche first. Drat, more delays. )

All of my guns are plinkers, really. Other than sitting around the house as house-guns, that's all they ever do. I don't carry 'em as I' m a collector with no CCW, and I can't STAND the thought of losing something to confiscation. Even the guns I bought speficallyt as carry guns. Not that I get searched all the time, but I like my guns too much, and they COST. I'm cheap, I don't want to replace 'em.

The sillyest thing is, I still haven't tried the .40 barrel in it yet. And it's gone through 600-ish rounds. So much for the switch-barrel plan!

17 - Used predominantly as student gun for CHL testing. Got 5 hi-cap mags for it that have been in storage for years. No need to risk students dinging anything but the 10-rounders ...

36 - Got it 'cause it fits my hand better than any of Gaston's breeds. Plus, I wanted a .45 that could be rode hard and put up wet without losing any sleep over it. The 36 serves as "on-bod carry" gun a few days a year, a supplemental "road travel" gun more frequently. As somewhat of a bonus, my 36 actually cycles with the CCI shot loads and puts an awesome pattern on copperheads and water mocs. :)

Gen 3 19 factory night sights here too------daily carry gun----nightly back-up to the 870 Marine Magnum.

Had it switched out for the stock part!!

Problem continues!! :banghead:

Have not checked to see if the "certified" Glock armorer put in the wrong part!! :scrutiny:

Since it involves taking the gun over to Glockmeister, which is a couple of hours drive from where I live, it will have to wait untill I have the time to do it!! Hence, the label: "DEAD"!!!

I bought my first Glock in 1989. Since that time I've owned three G17s, a G23, and a G19.
I've sold all of them over the past couple of years though. They're reliable guns, but...I just find that there are other guns out there that are just as reliable but are more accurate, more concealable, and that I like much better.
In my opinion Glocks are definitely not "perfection" and are over-hyped.

Denfoote, From your January 4th, 2003 04:39 AM post it sounds like your G36 was working fine, "perfect", until you altered it. See below...

Hi gbelleh,
As you know from TFL I have a G36. Of late it has had some jamming problems. The last time I took it out there was 5 jams out of a box of 50!! A 10% failure rate is not acceptable!!

In my case, I believe that the reason is the fact that I replaced the stock slide stop lever with an aftermarket extended part!! I plan to reinstall the stock lever. The gun was perfect until I did this!!!

The G36 is an excellent gun and I would not hesitate to buy one!! Just remember to keep it stock!!
