Hi Point AR .22 Upper?
Been seeing adds for a Hi Point .22LR upper for AR15s. Product number appears to be 500057.
Prices have been very nice, the most expensive being $284 ( and I could get free shipping on that one) down to $264 ( don't know about shipping)
Pictures look nice, but, hey, this is the internet and dating based on pictures can be a bad thing.
What I am not finding are any reviews (good or bad or indifferent) of folks tht have used them.
I want to know why they are $50 cheaper than anybody else's uppers. Other than the handguards are there any plastic parts? What magazines do they take ( appearently come with two 28 rounders, so not that big an issue)? Are the receiver top rails Pitcanny and take everyone's accessory sights and carrying handles?
Are they more accurate than throwing rocks? An old Nylon 66 on a bad day? Your typical AR in 5.56/.223 at 50 meters?
DO they have issues like function problems or parts breakage?
What is the actual upper made of?
How about it folks?
It occurs to me someone with a panic bought (or even y2k or TEOTWAWKI dust covered purchase in the back of the safe)stripped lower could buy the Hi Point upper and a cheap lower kit with M-4 ish stock and end up with a shootable .22LR AR for about an additional $350 plus shipping and still have a complete lower to add on a center fire upper at some later date.
Thoughts?
