I posted about a week ago that i inherited a hipoint carbine 995 but it was missing the sights

well i recieved my sights today but have a slight problem
the front sight went on without a hitch and from pictures online (i guess of the newer TS model) i missunderstood that the rear sight does not attatch to the rail but replaces it... no big deal really but the adjustment is in one of the screws for the rear sight.

here is the problem the screws that hold on the rail are all long enough except the one that adjusts the elevation of the rear sight... matter of fact it wont even reach the threaded block inside the top cover

is there a longer screw that came with the hipoint to start with? or am i just doing something wrong and not realizing it?

Do you have a 995TS or the older 995? I didn't know if you meant your gun or just the sights were from a 995TS.

On my 995TS the rear sight attaches to the rail. It doesn't clamp on, but the rail has holes to screw it on. I can't remember what the screw lengths were. Tonight I'll try to take mine out to take a look and see. To let you know.

Another option is call Hi Point and tell them of the difficulty installing the sights and you want to send it in for them to do it. They will usually do something like this with no hassle, pay for shipping, and send a mag back with it.

Also you could check out the hi point forums. A lot of info on the carbine there and people a heck of a lot more knowledgeable than me.

i figured it out
the adjustment screw for elevation for the rear sight is longer
and they didnt send one with the new sights

no big deal the whole thing is getting an overhaul once the conversion stock gets here

i think im just gonna slap on some magpul MBUS sights and be done
