Upon examining my Marlin 795's (which is just a magazine fed version of the Marlin 60) rear sight, there is the rear open sight, then a screw with a washer to adjust windage, and then an open screw whole. I can't quite recall, but I think that there once was a screw there used to adjust elevation. (It's been so long since I've shot this gun with open sights). Problem is, on www.e-gunparts.com/schemzoom.asp?schem=082Zz60 NEW MODEL , I can't see any thing that shows that an elevation screw once went there. Of course, that is a marlin 60 diagram, so perhaps the 795 has a different rear sight assembly?

Mine has the typical, stair-stepped, elevator there to adjust for elevation. No screw of any kind.

Sorry, the Papoose, which is just a take-down 795 in practice. Have also handled several 795s, and they're all the same.
