Hi-Point model c9

I have owned only the carbine version of the Hi-Point firearms and I have a great deal of respect for the company, and for the carbine. I am told that the handguns are very servicable for the price paid, and generaly reliable.

I have also owned a Kel-Tec P3-AT and I view them as a servicable firearm that will give good performance - particularly after a little break in period.

The handguns put out by Kel-Tec and Hi-Point are in different paying fields with one being small /compact for carry, and the other larger and not so fitted for a carry gun. I will give Kel-Tec the edge when considering a handgun, for form, fit , and slightly for function.

I can’t believe you compared a Kel-Tec to a Hi-point.This is almost as bad as that thread that compared a world class Beretta to a Taurus!
I am seriously offended.

OP, only read postings on Hi-Points from those that have owned them.

I have the HiPoint .40 handgun. It's big, heavy and generally ugly. But it's as accurate as my G34...

These are the first 5 rounds out of the gun at 20yds. No F&B, no strip and relube. Just open box, load 5, pull trigger...

NOT a carry weapon. Not REALLY a range weapon. YES it's a HD weapon.

I own both.

No comparison. Hi-Points are cheap and ugly as butt. I bought a C9 so that my kids would have something cheap but reliable to train with as opposed to handing them Daddy's 1911 and they end up scratching it up, or otherwise damaging it somehow.

I have a Kel-Tec P11 and carry it everywhere/everyday.

I've often said that my C9 was almost worth the $80 I paid for it.:D

I own both a Hi-Point 45 and 2 keltecs (p11, plr16). Although my Hi-point is reliable, it is too thick and heavy to make a good carry weapon although I do have a holster for it and have carried it on a whim. My P11 on the other hand is still warm from me taking it off for the night a short while ago. It makes a very good concealed weapon IMO. It's light, the barrel and grip are both relatively short, it's fairly thin and it has good capacity. I carry my p11 without a holster using the optional belt clip that screws into the frame pins.

I have owned a Hipoint carbine and found it to be completely reliable and very fun.

Hipoint has a great customer service department and thus I highly recommend them for a garage, tackle box, or truck gun. Once you are tired of them taking a beating just send it in and get a new one.

Keltecs sometimes need a break in period and although they are not usually that fun to shoot they are very slim/lightweight and make excellent CCW/backup pistols.

Usually I tell people: Don't pistol-whip someone, it might scratch the finish on your gun! But the Hi-Point is actually designed for just for that purpose.

Whether they work or not, can you really, would you really trust your (or a loved one's) life to a $179 pistol? Old biker saying, "got a $10 head, get a $10 helmet". SIG, H&K, Glock for pistols, S&W & Ruger for revolvers, et al.
