Hey Guys,
While i've been reading the forum for quite some time as a guest, i've officially joined, and this is my first post.

Long story short, a friend of mines father in law recently passed away. He and I have been sorting through his gun collection (which has been tons of fun by the way). He had a lot more hiding than anyone knew about. As part of the sorting, he's asked me to clean them up and list some of them for sale. He is keeping a couple, and letting me buy any of them that I want (at really good prices).

Here's a list of what i've come across so far:
- Sistema Colt .45
- Colt .38 special revolver
- Winchester Model 70 Varmint 225 winchester (haven't seen this one yet, but I found the original box)
- Mossberg / New Haven Model 600 Country Squire .410
- Browning 2000 12ga
- S&W 1000 20ga
- LC Smith SXS 20ga
- Western Field 12ga
- FN 1922 .32 (stamped Bahnpolizei US Zone)
- Ruger 10/22 (still in box, appears to have never been fired) - it's flawless. mfg. 1987
- Winchester 1903 22 automatic
- FN / Browning SA-22
- 2 Nylon 66's - Black Diamond & Mohawk Brown
- Winchester 94 NRA Centennial 30-30
- Hi Standard Double 9 .22 revolver (8.5" barrel)
- Winchester 9422M
- Remington 722 in.244
- Remington 600 (have only seen pics of this one so far)
- Remington 700 (have only seen pics of this one so far)
- H&R Model 900 .22 revolver (cylinder is messed up, so i need replacement if anyone has one)
- Colt Frontier Scout .22 revolver
- Omega III .25-06

I've come across another that i'm not familiar with, so i'm hoping that maybe you guys could help.

Barrel is stamped Golden State Arms Sante Fe Deluxe Mauser MKI Model 12014.
- Any idea what the caliber would be, as it's not marked anywhere. Here are a few pics, including marking on the barrel.
- Anything special about this, or worth noting?
- Any guidance on sell price for this? I'm thinking about picking this one up simply because I like it, but haven't made up my mind yet.

I appreciate any information possible. Thanks!

I’ve seen 3 or 4 of those golden state mausers and they were all 30-06. I don’t know what all they made them in. They made a lot of them though. That’s the nicest one I’ve seen and I would pay $400 for it.

If I was you, I'd snatch up any of the Colts, or the FN 1922.

A warning about the '03 Winchester: those take the long discontinued .22 WSL (Winchester Self Loading) cartridge- they will not function with the common .22 Long Rifle.
I picked up the Sistema Colt - unfortunately for me, he wanted to keep the other Colts, and the FN 1922.

The '03 Winchester is missing a couple parts, so it may become a parts gun for someone, or a wall piece. I'm not sure it's worth trying to put back together, simply due to the ammo issue.

Thanks for the info on the rifle - i'll talk to a gunsmith about doing a chamber casting on it. I'm thinking it may be 30.06, but that's just my guess.

This photo was after I cleaned it up a bit. It was filthy from sitting when I found it. All in all, in good shape, but it'd been a while since he dusted it off. Here's a pic of it before 20181011_230208.jpg

Excellent choice, and welcome to the forum!

Golden State Arms basically did a lot sporterizing of military rifles "back in the day". They have various levels of quality but for their upper tiers they did them up properly and didn't seem to cut any corners. Still, at the end of the day it's still a spoterized military gun. Expect it to pull more than a butchered/bubba'd rifle but less than the rifle in original condition. Two have recent completed sales on Gunbroker - one ended for $250 and the other for $270.

If you haven't, try removing the action and see if maybe the chambering is stamped beneath the barrel where it's not visible when assembled. Otherwise, the chamber casting will do what you need.

That one intrigued me enough to look up that cartridge. Seems to be similar to a 22-250

Curious if this Model 70 is pre or post 64? I'm guessing post.
Unfortunately, this rifle is not one that we've found. All I have is the original box for it - so either it's still hiding somewhere (which I doubt at this point), or he sold / loaned it to someone. Would you agree that the serial number is the one listed on the box, handwritten? 20181010_103844_resized.jpg

Do you know when the 30-30 was made?

I like the wood on the Mauser.

Next time you drive an hour north OP, feel free to drop off the LC Smith, Nylon 66’s and 9422M.
