I currently have an early '80's Taurus PT99 which is a little heavy for me and the grip is a little big for my hands. Can you guys recommend some lighter weight, smaller grip autos, but still high cap (15+)in 9mm or maybe .40? My price limit is $500-600. Oh yeah, I prefer one with a safely.

CZs are great. They have a longer DA pull than some other autos, but their grips are outstanding, and noticeably smaller than the Beretta/Taurus grips.

I would look at the models with back straps that can be swapped out. I have small hands and my order of priority would be this (I own one of each).....Depending on whether you want a striker or hammer fired pistol.

1. HK P30 in the configuration you prefer (Interchangeable back and side straps.) -Hammer fired, more than your budget.
2. Walther PPQ (Interchangeable back strap.) -Striker, unfortunately no safety.
3. M&P 9c (Interchangeable back strap.) - Striker -Can be purchased with a safety, I believe.

There can be only one!!!!!!

The original hi capacity 9mm!!!!! The Browning Hi Power! At your price range used is the way to go but there are lots of them in the $500 to $600 range.

I have small hands and have found the Browning Hi-Power to fit me perfectly. In a more compact sized auto I would go with a Ruger SR9c or a CZ P-01.

I have medium sized hands with short fingers. I'm currently carrying a Sig P226 with these modifications:

Short trigger. Reduces the length of the trigger reach.
Houge G10 grips: Stronger material allows for thinner grips.
Mag release on right side: Let's me hit the mag release with my index finger instead of having to rotate the whole pistol to get at it with my stubby thumb.

With Mec-Gar mags I have a pistols with 18 rounds (+1 chambered) that I can actually shoot well.
