A local GS has 2 High Standards, from a private collection, for sale...Based on the fact that this store usually prices their new guns $150.00 more than any other retail shop I've ever patronized, (they are in a metro area where price seems not to be questioned) I'd like some opinions on what they are asking for these vintage High Standards. Gun # 1 is a NIB DuraMatic...Not sure of age, but a parts list in the box offers a new barrel for $11.95...They want $599.00 for this one. Gun # 2 is a 1970's unfired "The Victor" (no box) with vents on slide...Asking $999.00. Should I keep looking, or are these prices realistic?

Jeez, I'd pass. High Standards have been priced really high lately and I haven't seen too many of them moving.

$999.00, no box, no warranty, no magazines available....forget it!

If you're looking to spend that kind of money you could get a S & W Model 41 with two barrels, a lifetime warranty and factory support. Then pick up all the magazines you can afford.

Duramatics should run $250-$350 these days. A Victor should for $550-$750, for the most part. I'd say he's $200-$300 high on both of them.

I've actually seen a FN PS 90 in this place for $500.00 more than 2 other shops within 50 miles...Should have known these were not "deals"...Thanks!!!

Not new in the box but I bought a nice Dura-matic earlier this year for $150. Those prices seem quite high imo.
