Highest price you paid for your gun

Highest price you paid for your gun -> $499 (This is the handgun forum after all. Ask about my rifles and shotguns and the answer is quite different.)
Was it worth it -> every penny
do you still have it -> yep

$600.00 for my M27-2 6" and money well spent, INMO. Sadly I will have to pay more for one of my grail guns, an M-27 3 1/2".

$780 for a Sig P220 with the stamped slide. I HAD to have it only to discover that I just couldn't shoot that well with it. I was heartbroken. I traded it for a XD45, then for a Norinco 1911, then finally a new American Classic 1911. The value went down monetarily but the satisfaction went up. Next would be my M&P 9C I paid $580 for. I've fired roughly 7000 rounds with it and I am VERY satisfied with it. I haven't found anything I prefer over it yet.

The highest price I paid was $700 for a barely used Colt SAA in .45LC. (They list for over a grand.) It was a good deal, and it was beautiful, but I was so disappointed when I couldn't hit a darn thing with it. Not going to say it was entirely the gun's fault, but that doesn't matter. An inaccurate gun is little more than a paper weight to me, wherever the fault lies.

Most of my current handguns cost $250 - $400. I'm kind of amazed at the good quality you can get in that price range (If you do your homework.).

I have only gun that I would actually call "cheap" and it's more accurate than that Colt was.

Paid $2,900.00 for a Wilson Combat, BWC. And, it's worth EVERY PENNY!! Finest fire arm I've ever owned, the accuracy, reliability and craftsmanship are second to none!! Told my wife to bury me with this gun...

I've got a pair of Colt SAAs, first generation, BP frames. One in 45 Colt and one in 38-40. Together over $5000.

My PC629 is nice at $850. I have a Colt NM Gold Cup 1911 from the early 70s that was over a grand.

Worth it? Oh yeah! Do it again? In a second!

Wilson Combat Tactical Elite in 10mm.

The Tactical Elite has to be the easiest handgun in the world to shoot. Mine doesn't read "Tactical Elite" anywhere on it, so I would tell you that it's just a 1911 in 10mil that shoots really well.

Of course I still have it. Finally got it the last Friday in April.

The most expensive handgun I've ever purchased was a lovely 1919 ex-RCMP Colt New Service. I paid $1500 to include shipping. While it is not in LNIB condition I doubt it was ever issued prior to being surplused.

Yes I still own it and I doubt I will ever part with it.

$400 is my max. It's amazing what you can find slightly used for that amount.
PPS, P99, CZ PO-1, Glock ...

I totally didn't even look to see that this was the handgun forum when I posted about the deer rifle. My most expensive handgun was my .45 Colt Ruger Blackhawk. OTD for $485

$1600 for this Yost-Bonitz. I stole it for that amount, sine their basic bottom package is now $3000 and over 1 year wait. IMG_1934.jpg IMG_1930.jpg

Paid $2400 for a pair of used HKP7M10s...sold each for $2000 about two years later. :)

Paid about $750 for a used P7M13, sold it a couple years later for $1500. Wish I'd kept it.

Paid $1100 for a used Commander-sized alloy framed Les Baer 1911--had to have a bit of work done, still have it, worth every dime and then some.

Paid about $1100 for my first EMP. It went back to Springfield twice; they ended up replacing it. Second one went back twice too, then I sold it. Guy I sold it to sent it back one more time.

Paid $1100 for a used DW 10mm CBOB, probably the most troubled 1911 I have ever owned (of 25 or so). I've been spending time and money on it and working on it for ten months now, and it still isn't working correctly. If it weren't such a pricey and well-regarded 1911 I'd have ditched it a long time ago. Honestly, I cannot recommend a DW 1911 in good faith. Their CS has been non-existent, and I have read enough threads by people who have experienced similar issues.

Hope I can get it working right, but I am putting forth far more effort than I can justify. The only reason I keep trying is that I am intrigued by the 10mm cartridge. If it were a .45, it would have been gone long ago--I already have a number of .45s that work consistently.

Thanks for that info. I was considering a Springfield EMP, but not anymore.
