I was thinking about setting up my S&W M-10 snubbie (steel K-frame, about 33 ounces empty), with a Barami Hip Grip or seeing if Don Collins would make me a Lip Grip in Micarta. I've only ever seen posts about people using the Hip Grips with J-frame revolvers and generally liking them, although they are definitely available for K-frames as well.

Question: Considering the weight of the M-10, is the Hip Grip a good option, or are they best used for lighter-weight revolvers? This would not be a daily carry gun. In fact, it probably wouldn't be carried more than a dozen times a year when I get that "wouldn't it be nice to stick a snubbie in my waistband" feeling. And yes, I would definitely wear a high-quality gun belt with the Hip Grip / Lip Grip.

I have 2 sets of Lip Grips for my M64. Definitely prefer them over the Hip Grips for look and feel. Totally comfortable and concealable for me. I think it would be fine for daily carry if you so choose. A good belt is a must. Also, the Lip Grips are a bit thick. I grew to like them, but they are thicker than the K-frame Hip Grips.
