Hiram Maxim Machine Gun Shoot and Expo

Does anyone know why and how long the website has been down? I was hoping there would be a machine gun shoot this July, but the website is down or gone. This would be a sad day if it was. What a good time that is in Dover- Foxcroft. Has anyone else gone to this shoot?

We all know how great a man J.M.Browning was however you can not forget the 19th century inventor of the first self powered machine gun, Hiram Maxim.

I've been to all but one of the shoots. The shoots are all done. The Hiram Maxim Soc was just getting burned out. They were having to start preparing for the next one just days after one finished. It was just getting to be too much for a few people to handle & organize. There was alo of behind the scenes stuff that was taking too much of thier personal time. We all had a blast - pun intended - while they lasted and met some great people. Maybe someday we'll see another up here in Maine.

I managed to make it to 2 HMHS shoots, and had a great time (and mmm, that steak and lobster dinner, with blueberry beer, was fantastic). It's sad that they decided they couldn't keep it going.

Man that blows. Now I'm bummed out. We need to get that going again. But how?
