I took this video during the 2nd relay at the grayling national historic artillery shoot this weekend. I was in the first relay, and our group ended up winning the smoothbore shoot at 500 yards with 4 hits on the target and 2 on the house thingy. Ill post some pictures later too. When i was up it was raining like hell and I didnt want to damage my camera so I dont have too many. The acwsa has a facebook page with many many pictures of the shoot and the woods afterwards. I was in awe walking through seeing the damage to the trees(including cannonballs wedged in the trunks) and th marks on the ground of the balls hopping about.

Coming from a non-military background...getting to see old cannons like this being fired is awesome. Definitely something to go observe and take the kids along if you get the chance in your respective areas.

Those 2 pictures look like they were from port huron, which is only 100 yards. still that was probably done by a rifled gun, either a 3 inch ordanace or a span am breachloader is my guess.

In grayling rifled guns were shooting at 1200 yards.
