Hello everyone. I was going to buy the smith wesson 15-22 rifle and discovered the HK 416 22lr rifle during the process. I like the 416 due to mostly metal construction. Out of the several reviews i've read/watched, only one didn't like it due to customer service and a broken extractor after 500 rounds.

Does anyone have any experience with this rifle regarding quality of construction and reliability?

I like the 15-22 but not the polymer construction. Wanted to ask for experienced opinions due to the higher price tag of the HK 416 vs the 15-22. Maybe I'm being to picky.

Uncle Richard;

I can't speak to the 416, but I have used H&K's customer service. The work I wanted got done quickly, correctly, and at the quoted cost. All told, the gun was only out of my hands for slightly over a week. I have no complaints with H&K from my limited, but very positive experience.

The HK 416 22LR is made by Umarex. I think the M&P 15-22 is higher quality.

Correct. Umarex's rimfire products are typically potmetal and of questionablr quality. The HK 416 22LR is no different.

The 22LR version is not made by HK, as stated above. Umarex is garbage as far as I am concerned.

I appreciate the.advice. ive heard considerable positive comments about the 15_22. I made my choice. Thanks again guys.
