HK P7 PSP last shot hold open?

The PSP will hold the slide open on an empty magazine, correct? I was looking at one at the local shop that did not do so. Is the pistol broken or do I not know my P7's as well as I thought I did?

It should hold open on an empty magazine.

ETA: If you were holding the squeeze cocker down, that is also the slide release, so it would not hold open in that case.

ETA2: I just tried it, it should hold open either way, and then will close again if you REsqueeze the squeeze cocker. (duh, since you are squeezing when you are shooting this makes sense . . . I wasn't really thinking.) Sounds like the one you looked at had a problem, at least if it had a mag in it.

The slide lock is just behind the trigger on the P7. Without a mag in the pistol just rack the slide and pust the slide lock in.
It difinitely should lock open with a mag inserted.
