HK P7K3 in .22LR

I just saw this in my local auction site ...
a P7 in .22LR???

Is this ultra rare? Is there a reason that there
are not many of´em arond?

There aren't many, that makes them rare and expensive. If you want to spend some money, look for a P7K3 with all three barrel and magazine sets (.22lr, .32acp and .380acp.). These were pretty expensive from the beginning, a bit of a novelty. Like some other early HKs it uses an expendable buffer. A K3 recently sold on GB for $2725...Wow!

Wow, in dollars that's $735, that's about what a normal P7 PSP police trade in sells for in the U.S. I'll make a guess and say that's an excellent price for a very collectable pistol.

A pure .22LR P7K3 is extremely rare. P7K3s are rare anyway, but only a handful were delivered in .22 caliber.

I've been a gun nut and P7 fan for a long time. I have NEVER seen one of those in my life. It has to be very rare.

If I had to guess, it is likely that expensive .22 pistols aren't high on most people's shopping lists. I'd buy one at that price just to have a P7 in .22 (and because I know I could sell it for more).

It is extremely rare and you will always be able to find a buyer if you need to sell it. If you can find a full set, then buy that too.

It says something else on the German site that you took it from, it states that bidding starts at Euro 1,100 and the buy-it-now option is Euro 1,300.

The P7k3 is rare and was usually sold in .380ACP, with conversions available for .32 ACP, and .22 l.r., often sold as a set.

The reason that used guns are cheap in Germany is because few people will be able to obtain the necessary license to purchase a handgun, that also limits resale value.

If you can buy THAT gun for 500 Euros, do it! You could easily double your money by selling it in the States. (There are many of us over "here" that are P7 crazy - part of a cult, so to speak.)

Even if you could make some profit, importing a gun into the U.S. can be quite tricky. You will need an importing FFL and an FFL in your state. You will also have to pay customs duty and airfreight. And Germany will want some money, too, for their export documents.

Anyway, the starting bid is Euro 1,100. Multiply it with 1.47 to get the US$ amount, add about $400 to 500 for the import fees and go figure if it is worth it.

weird. When i first looked i swear it was starting at 500 .....

I´ve seen many an occasion, where it would have been profitable
to get the gun on the american market .... some rather rare things
only fetch a coupla hundreds here sometimes .... hey even Korth revolvers
only get a few bids ....

too much of a hassle i believe ... but i sure would love
to make a buck off that ... and make you guys in the US happy!
