I finally bought my first HK P9S, and picked it up today. It is a Combat model chambered in 9mm, and has an "IA" (1980) date code. It was never fired, and came with all the goodies: manual, test target, box, and so on. I was able to take some photos of it this evening, and would like to share them:

Why does it remind me of a Hi Point?

Seriously, how does it shoot etc? I am looking around for another 9mm.

Hi-Point! Ohh ????.

The P9S is one of the most accurate pistols on Earth.

I dont know. You tell me:

Those are indeed one of the finest autos out there. Love mine. :) You've got to shoot it to really appreciate it. Has the best trigger I've ever experienced on an auto. Truely an exceptional firearm.

Holy cow!

I saw part of Cannonball Run II the other night, and there where some gangsters running around with pistols that I did not recognize. I think they were HK P9Ss. Anyone can confirm?

Very nice lunde.

I've had a 9mm and 45ACP P9S for many years.

My 9mm is actually in parts in a plastic baggie in my junk box.
It broke a couple parts and I'm tired if fooling with H&K trying to get replacements.

H&K won't sell the parts directly and they are such a pain in the butt to deal with the ONLY H&K dealer around doesn't want to deal with them. :banghead:

The P9S is quite a piece of machinery. :)

I always wanted a P9S in 45... overly complex, overly large, bad looking hombre.

Not to mention spendy.

Nice pistol. Tell us how it shoots.

10-Ring, you wrote:
But all this does is obligates you to find a matching P9s in 45 acp...
Here is a photo of the same P9S Combat in 9mm wearing Nill combat grips:

And, here's the matching .45 Auto version wearing the same type of grips (I bought two sets of grips):

Any chance you want to sell your broken 9mm P9s.

Ghen,
I also have the P9S in 45ACP, so I'd better keep the broken gun for spare parts.
And maybe one day those butt heads at HK will give a crap about their customers and I can get the parts.

Years ago they were great. They gave me some springs for my VP-70, no charge.

Now, the jerks cut me off four times when I called long distance, before they told me that they wouldn't sell the parts to me.
Needless to say I'll never buy another HK.:cuss:

Good looking pistol lunde, especially those wood grips.:)

These have been out of production for quite some time so I can understand them not keeping a stockpile of parts for them. How long should they have spare parts available after a models discontinuation? Also without knowing whcih parts they were, this may or may not be pertainant, but many manufacturers won't sell some parts unless they're factory fitted due to liability issues. Most parts can be gotten from a few different sources anyways.
Gee, If Colt can't sell a part for an old discontinued model, I guess you'd swaer of them as well?

HK told me they HAD THE PARTS in stock.
After five phone calls, that was established.
The parts required NO special fitting.
They said they would NOT SELL the parts to me.
I had to order them through a "authorized dealer".
The ONLY" authorized dealer" around did not want to order anything from HK because "they are such a pain in the ass", the dealer's words.

But the dealer did order the parts. It took MONTHS for HK to send the parts. So many months in fact I forgot all about it until the dealer called and said HK finally sent my parts.

As it turned out another small part broke on the P9S .

Rather than even talk to those butt heads at HK again I junked the gun.

And yes, I'll refuse to buy a gun from any company that treats their customers like that.

And yes Colt is on my list to. I haven't bought a (new) Colt in 25 years.:D

I think that the approach has a lot to do with it .I have had great customer service both times I called:neener:
