Well as promised, I took the SL8 out to the range today to site it in and see how it functioned. Wasn't really shooting for groups, but ended up with about an average 2 - 2.5 inch groups at 100 yards shooting S&B, 55 grain .223. I went through 80 rounds and it was a blast to shoot. No malfunctions whatsoever. It is a soft shooting rifle with a pretty good trigger compared to my stock AR's. The barrel twist is 1 in 7, so I may try a heavier bullet. I was using the open sights, but will definitely scope this rifle. I've seen some decent short rails that are customed made by Doc Rack and I may just get one. I think the stock long rail is unnesecarry if a scope is going to be used. Any suggestions on scope? From what others say I can expect MOA or sub MOA with good ammo and a decent scope, if I do my job.
