HK USP .40 > 9mm Conversion?

Hey everyone,

Apologies if this question has been asked prior, couldn't find it doing a search and so far my research has turned up mixed opinions.

Would it be possible/safe/recommended to convert an HK USP .40 to 9mm? I'm looking at an EFK Fire barrel (http://www.efkfiredragon.com/hkusp-full-size-9mm-conv-interchangeable-with-40-sandw.html) and wondering if this would actually work. Would I need a different recoil spring & mag as well?

Usually the barrel, slide and magazine are different between 9mm and 40 guns. However I just took a 9mm put it in the magazine of my HK USP40, chambered, extracted and ejected it. Not sure the reliability would be as good as a dedicated 9mm gun but it should be perfectly safe.

I was wondering if the extractor wouldn't quite grab the cartridge rim very well on a 9mm case... That's one of the concerns that I saw when researching is that it didn't extract reliably.
