I just bought a used HK usp 9mm and know very little about it. It came with 3- 15 round mags. and on the side of the mags. it says, Restricted Law Enforcement Government Use Only. It also says Heckler & Koch Inc. made in Germany. I haven't had the opportunity to shoot it yet so I don't know how the magazines function.

My questions are,

1. Are these standard mags. made by HK for Police/Goverment use, and do any of you have experience with them?
2. Anyone know where I can get after market mags. that are reliable that you would trust for your SD weapon?

Thanks for your help, Mike

HK Magazines are reliable magazines. I avoid anything but real HK mags in my HK pistols.

I bought five brand new USP 9 magazines from CDNN last month.
They are H&K Factory mags and none have the L.E. marking.
CDNN also sells used magazines occasionally and you may get L.E. marked mags if you go this route.

Thanks for the replies, I have the 3 mags. but I'll probably pick up some more. I was just curious about the LE markings on the mags. I live in the free state of Nevada so I'm safe from the restricted status.

Thanks again, Mike

Just in case you weren't aware... Your USP can also be fitted with a Jet Funnel Pack which allows the 18 round mag use. It is a pricey accessory however. Info just for info sake.

Thanks usp9, The place where I bought the gun, the guy had the funnel accessories on his USP and he liked it, although he told me the same as you did that it was pricey. I'll stick with the gun in stock form, for a while at least.

The extra 3 rounds are not that important to me,... more is usually better but if it was a requirement of mine I would have bought the used xdm full size that was sitting next to the used HK that I did buy.

That said I do like the extra rounds in the gun. :D

Thanks Mike
