HK45 hammer issue

The stupid little rubber back end (spur?) of the hammer finally came off after 2 years and a lot of use. Havnt bothered to call HK, I'm assuming with the "you suck, and we hate you" rep of HKs customer service that won't go anywhere. It usually doesn't present a problem as I can still cock it, but it bugs me. Anyone have any ideas?
 
I'd call HK. You don't know what they will or wont do until you talk to them.

So, you believe the worst of the internet rumors and won't even call them?
Why don't you just sell me the gun for half of what you paid, I'll call HK, and you can perpetuate the 'you suck and we hate you' myth while I enjoy your gun.
 
I have dealt with HK Customer Service many times over the past twenty years, including just this past month. They are concerned, knowledgeable, efficient, professional, and prompt with any repairs. If you haven't dealt with Sam, Link, or Travis, you don't know HKCS. You don't have a basis for complaint unless you have experienced something firsthand. These guys are serious about customer satisfaction. As others have said, call them. At least you will know for sure what they will say and do. I'll bet if you sent them a picture of the hammer, they would either send you a new part or tell you to sent the gun to them. Here is the email but a call is better. Rarely will you hear about terrible HK customer service from people who have actually dealt with them. The vast majority are people who are repeating someone who was repeating someone, etc.

I'm not saying nobody has had a bad experience with their CS but people love to demonize.
