I thought about getting an HK91 but thought an AR10 would be easier to come by and less expensive...

A question I never pondered because i never could until recently...how hard is it to find 2 like new HK91s with 10 20-rounders and will I be spending a fortune?

What about 2 HK93s and 10 30-rounders, or are 25-rounders only available?

It'd be much less expensive going the HK-91 route than going with the HK-93.

VG HK-91s should be about $1800-$2200.

Here's a pair (I'll assume he wants $2650/each and not for the pair):

Here's one with a box for $2100:

Here's another from Vollmer for $2100.

Another for $2,000:

As for mags, it would probably be best to just order a ton from TAPCO, Federal Arms Corp, InterOrdnance, or others for ~$5/each.

I just bought 10 HK-mfr'd German military surplus 20-rd mags for my HK91 from Tapco for $3/ea.

These are pretty much the cheapest reg-cap mags on the market today; I pay more for AR & AK mags, fer cryin' out loud...

If you're interested in the 91, but want to save a little money, look into Springfield's SAR3, SAR3/8, or SAR8 rifles.

SAR3s are all pre89 ban with stamped steel receivers, the 3/8s can be preban but you have to check the serial number with Springfield, and the early 8s came with steel receivers as well. ALL of which were manufactured in Greece on licensed HK machinery. Every bit the equal of HKs for less money.

Later SAR8s had US made cast aluminum receivers (with integral scope mount), do some research on those before you buy. Reviews are mixed.

If I got one, it would have to be a gin-u-wine HK manufactured one.

Is it any more cumbersome than an M1A?

I have one for my M1A! It's L337 Tactical!

If it's no more cumbersome maybe I'll replace my M1A with one. Or three.
