Oops. Someone should have left the cameras at home.....

Lots more pictures in the Fox article.

The Hoboken, N.J., SWAT team was axed from the department on Friday after pictures surfaced showing Hooters waitresses posing with their guns, sprawled on top of police vehicles and dangling off the shoulders of officers, MyFoxNY.com reports.

Ahh good old New Jersey, where only the elite can have firearms.

Or Hooters girls in shorts, take your pick.

Thank goodness these guys drove all the way to Alabama to help out with the Katrina relief efforts huh?
At least the were busy here instead of disarming law abiding citizens in New Orleans.

If a pretty girl wants to touch my gun, I'm not gonna stop her! If she wants to check out my rifles, I'll probably unload them and let her check them out.

Besides, aren't THR members always saying how we should get others involved with firearms? Who better than police and hooters girls? :)

I'm all for hooter girls and swat teams

except I am not in favor of using my tax dollar for the two to meet.
probably multiple NJ gun laws are being broken.
afaik, these guys were in the south somewhere during the Katrina fiasco.
At least they were not confiscating guns.

My problem with this... there appears to be ammunition in the shotguns side saddle.

Otherwise, unless this conflicted with their performing their jobs call it a publicity oportunity and live it up.

Did you see the MANY pictures of the officers doing shots?

Seems a little more than a photo opp. Doing shots and passing out machineguns is not really a publicity opportunity :)
(Or SBR, can't tell what it is for sure)

No, I didn't see pictures of the officers doing shots. If they exist, then that is absolutely untolerable behavior to associate with while in uniform or giving the appearance of being associated with the uniform.

The firearms were privately owned by the officers.
These pictures weren't really professional, but come on they had nothing to do with SWAT other than SWAT members, on their own time with their own firearms had some fun.

I've never even heard of Hoboken NJ before, and I live in the state. Why does it need a SWAT team???

The officers were using their own personal owned weapons on their own time.
The pictures had nothing to do with SWAT or anything work-related at all, they were just having some fun and why should they be punished for something that the gov't has nothing to do with in any way? These pictures are their own private business, and no one else's.

Where's the problem?

So unless my eyes are mistaken,NJ officers can privately own SBR's? That's news to me. This is BS and elitism at it's finest. Any citizen who did that would be off to jail. Getting fired is too kind. :fire:

Negative. They are clearly wearing police labeled clothing and using police property and vehicles. Any association with those items and the consumption of alcohol is strictly forbidden in every agency I know. I got drinking, I do it in civies. Period.

If that was the case, why were they wearing ther SWAT costumes?

I vote for they may not have been doing anything really wrong, but it looks kind of bad.

I definitely have the wrong job.

That said at least they were handling the weapons responsibly, I'm sure at that point those girls were probably the only ones able to safely handle them.

Sorry, we don't do hot chicks with guns threads here. this isn't ARFCOM or some other place where they do babe of the day threads...This is THR and this thread is off topic.
