If you have the current manual handy, does it have data for the Hornady 75 Grain HPBT? I'd like to load that, but I don't want to order a manual if it isn't covered. I emailed them this question a couple of weeks ago, no answer. Haven't found one locally.

ETA: or the same data from the Hornady manual. I think I was initally looking at Hodgdon because their manual is about 50 bucks less than Hornady. But Hodgdon only has a 75 grain VLD entry IIRC. So I may have to try and find a copy of the Hornady manual.

Thanks,

I have found the Hodgdon data for the 75gr VLD to be suitable for the Hornady 75gr OTM.

Right now, I'm loading about a half grain over the max shown on the Hodgdon page - this gets me 2700fps from a 20" tube and 2630fps out of a 16" tube.

Thanks for the chrono data. I'm getting 2850-2870 from 25.2 grains of Varget with a 69 grain SMK (24" Bushmaster barrel), so that sounds about right. I guessing from the Hodgdon disclaimer at the top of the page 25 grains is max with the VLD.

I was concerned the 25 grains with the VLD might be hotter with the HPBT, different profile and all. I think I'll start a few grains down and work up to 25.
