It really appears to be an issue for rifle cartridges. I’m using CFE Pistol for 9mm with Hornady 147 grain XTP projectiles. Data for CFE Pistol is not in my Lyman manual or in my blue 9mm manual except for Hodgdens section. The data for that combo is pretty consistent between Hornady and Hodgden.
I am all for starting low as well. However it’s confusing to have minimum loads from one source be very near the max or even over from another equally well known source. If for whatever reason I only had data from Lyman or Hodgden, how would I know there was potential for problems?
