Would like to know if anybody has tried the 223 Hornady 68g HPBT with canilure that Lock Stock and Barrel has in their Fall harvest of Values catalog. I was thinking of buying some for service rifle competition, 200 and 300 yd., because I am currently using Hornady 68 but did not know if the canilure would be detramental to accuracy.

Yes. I shoot those over 25grs of Ball(C)2 in a Remington case with a CCI SR primer. It's an accurate load for me,running about 1.3" @100yds from my chrome bore AR-15. I seat them to just under magazine length for the AR,and ignore the cannelure.
I was told that they are pulled bullets from an ammo contract that Hornady was fulfilling. They sold the excess off.

Thanks for the response Poodleshooter. I will pick some up from a local supplier if they are still available.

I am currently using the standard 68 g bullet with WC844 (H335) 22.7g, WSR in LC brass. It gives me .75 inch groups at 100yds for my National Match AR.
