Okay, awhile back I purchased a Hogue 12" length-of-pull stock for my 870. I wanted a shorter than standard buttstock, and I really like the feel of the overmolded stock.

But...it's a smidge too short. I think a 13" stock would be best for me then. So...

I had thought that Hogue made a 13" stock, and I could've swore I saw them listed in the same place that I bought my current stock from. But for the life of me I can't remember where that was, and Hogue doesn't list a 13" LOP stock on their website.

Does Hogue make a 13" LOP stock, or should I just get the Speedfeed Youth Model?

I might be up for a pistol grip stock too. I don't have a perferance for it, but given that I'm left handed it'd make manipulating the safety easier.

Hey pardner, I think you have returned safely from serving me somewhere-welcome and thanks.
Anyway I am somewhat of an expert on the matter.
Hogue wouldn't cut me one down at 13" -even when I went to the factory to pick up an order of 6 stocks! They showed me they were easily cut down though!
The long one is only 13 3/4"
The short one is 12" all right and IS too short without a raid vest. Your thumb will smack you in the cheek bone enough to hurt after a few hours. It does work real good in small rooms though:evil:
The hot setup I have found is to get a SMALL Limbsaver or KickEze (Iused these two brand for me and friends)slip on and put on the 12". The combination of the 2 recoil pads makes magnum loads - pleasant! This gives you 12 3/4 to 13" LOP . Although the small size pad fit tight, I wrapped GI (Tacticool) 100mph tape around the joint a few turns and got it VERY Tactical!:D
Although the speed feed conventional solid Police 13" stock is a solid unit , it is heavy (and stout as hell) and doesn't have that cool rubber texture that matches a Surefire forend perfectly!;)

Added DON"T get a PG stock- they don't POINT as well and thats what a shottie is for. Put a left hand Vang safety on if you don't have a left handed 870.

One way around that is to keep your thumb along the side the stock, rather than on top of it. It is a hard habit to break though.

Right you are Zach. I like to 'choke the chicken' on a butt stock however. I know it is wrong but when your hand slips off the front it helps to have thumb wrapped around the wrist of stock . Also you can wave it around one handed that way. The deal is, even being forced to lay our thumbs along the stock by trainers, the 12" or shorter stocks 'jump up' enough to bruise cheekbones after hours of training. Put 1/2" to an inch more on the stock and that goes away for me and others I have trained with-go figure!
