Do these grips add allot of extra girth? I know they do on the 4006. I have a P226 and want to put on a better feeling grip, but not at the expense of the girth.

They are indeed fatter, especially if you get the ones that wrap around the front strap. A better route to go might be the Hogue G-10 or Aluminum grips...it depends on what you mean by better feeling

Better than the plastic grips. I'll look up those Hogue G-10's. Thanks.

I have the Hogue side panels grips on my P226, I don't have the wrap around. It's not too bad, it does make it easier to shoot since it's more grippy.

Maybe look at doing the E2 conversion that a lot of people rave about.

I think I've seen a kit to do it on your own for $50 or less.

EDIT: one of the spots, not sure if it is in stock or not... https://www.gtdist.com/ProductDetail.aspx?PartNumber=SIG-GRIPKIT-226-E2

Found some Uncle Mike's that I bid on. I have a pair on a 659 and love them.
