Hollywood SR Turret press owners!!

I have been looking into making a small run of turret's for the Hollywood SR Turret Press.Turret will be made of C1018 CR Steel not cast steel have the swagging bar hole 3- handle holes drilled and tapped and 8- 7/8-14 threaded die holes (different sized die holes would be available in any configuration you choose for an additional expense.)

Cost of 7/8"-14 dies turret $200 + $12.50 priority shipping

One's first thought may be that is too much money. A Dillon 1050 tool head is the same price. The Hollywood requires more steel and machine work. Plus, the opportunity may not come again.

Not such a bad deal after all!

OK Dave I will contact you when we are ready to place the order.I am not making any money on these the cost to me from the fabricator is $155 and I have to drill them out from a 1/8" pilot hole to a 13/16" hole and then tap all 8 holes plus 3 handle holes and the index holes which I have to get a jig made for that will cost me $60 bucks or so and I am going to paint the sides with crinkle paint like the factory ones.So as you can see I will be lucky to break even on these not counting my labor,but I love my Hollywood Turret and know there is a small but loyal following for them,

I wish I could make it economical to turn out complete presses but these beefy old workhorses could never compete price wise with Redding and RCBS turrets much less the Lee.

Hollywood SR Turret press owners!! UPDATE 7/12

OK Fred and Lube I have an update on the Hollywood SR Turret project.

I found a great deal on a mill this week and will be getting it sometime in the next week or so. This means I will be doing all machining and not just drilling and tapping the threads. Being able to get raw square blanks and starting at that point will allow me to drop the price per turret to $160 plus shipping (listening Fred and Reinz?) I still need to get a bunch of tooling but I should be able to get it before the end of the month and will be able to buy the steel at that point. Anyone else who wants to jump in and get one at this lower price please chime in the next 2 weeks. As soon as I get one turned out I will take pics of it after testing on my press.At that time I would be willing to run a second batch off at the lower price as long as we have a minimum of 3 or 4 turrets.My steal source is close enough for me to go pick it up from but only if for multiple pieces. if any want some after the second offering or if the second offering is only for one or 2 turrets then the price would have to go back up to $200 per turret plus shipping.
