I have a XD-9 as a nightstand gun. It's currently stuffed into a generic nylon holster, but I intend to add a weapon-mounted light.

My question is: in what holster should I keep this gun?

Primary need: the holster must accommodate the mounted light.
Secondary want: use as a range holster.

Links/advice appreciated!

PS: re-reading the thread title, I'll try to stave off the jokes with: no, I'm not looking for a holster for my furniture. :)

Primary need: One of those small zippered gun-rugs will hold the gun w/light and maybe an extra mag nicely. It will protect it and still be ready to draw (out the end) and shoot.

Secondary want: Start saving money. You'll need it! :)

Actually, underneath my nightstand, I screwed and glued some narrow pine boards to hold the gun up under there in such a way so I can easily grab it out from underneath, and it is not visible, because the sides on my nightstand extend down about 2".

I originally made it for a 92FS Beretta, but since I no longer have that, I have "adjusted" it to accomodate my 500 Magnum 4" barrel.

I don't have any kids around my house. If, for some reason I do, then my handguns are locked into a safe.

This might work.... get a piece of perspex, a strip of decent magnet and some suitable heatshrink. Put the strip against the perspex, put the shrink over and shrink it. Screw the perspex where you want it and hang the gun off it. Seen it on a youtube. Put em under desks, sides or backs of cupboards etc.

Good call on the zippered sleeve. This also takes care of the whole "I just took a recently-met girl upstairs, and she saw the gun sitting on my nightstand and sort of freaked out" issue.

I took a shot at keeping my SuperTuck hanging from a coat hanger jammed between the mattress and the box spring. It worked but was stressing the belt clips ... a purpose-built hanger would probably support a good IWB holster just fine, though.
