I still can't get over the dogs not barking.

it was 12 years old.....likely half death and half blind and lost half it's sense of smell.

is also a testimony to the stealth of these awesome preditors.

awesome or not....it's very appropriate (imho) that the top preditor in the foot hills catch and dispatch the cat.

And since we are posting cougar photos from the interwebs...

All the more reason to sleep with a gun under the pillow.

"Nice Pussy"

wife: why thank you dear.

Shhhhhh "not you babe"

Wow -- 2 mountain lion threads in the same day!

My cabin has been marked by a cougar and we get occasional footprints. While I'm disappinted that I haven't spotted one, the wife doesn't necessarily agree since we have kids. Of course, in our cabin area (Eastern Washington), the locals take care of problem cougars without government assistance. (I'd use my .357, just to keep this gun-related.)

A video called "Big Cat Challenge" makes leopards the top cat, since they carrry more than their body weight up into trees.

I was shocked 12 years ago to see a coyote 1 1/2 miles north of Chicago's loop in Lincoln Park. Probably a young cougar finding its own territory. Animals are running out of room, but at least they seem to be procreating.
