On 23 January this year I experienced a massive heart attack that required double bypass open heart surgery. Complications hit hard and I'm finally due to go home from the hospital tomorrow. They have had to go back and work on even more problems but the doctors seem to be happy with where it looks like I'm at for now. The weekend before the heart attack I finished up a Stag varminter in 223 but I didn't get to shoot it. It's ready to go to the bench, scope mounted and all. If the weather settles down and some more of the wounds heal I intend to try it later in the week. The sad thing is that as soon as it's proofed and tuned it is going up for sale along with a bunch of other beautiful firearms in order to pay bills for. But I am grateful, at least I can get through it all somehow. Life can throw a mean one or two at you and all you can do is make the most of it.

Glad you are doing better.
I was only in for 15 days when I had my bypass surgery, (Quad CABG), and that was just because I developed A-fib.
Take care of yourself.

Health first! There will always be time for the gun stuff. You might find that what you can comfortably shoot has changed. Starting over might give you the opportunity to build a new collection of things that you can shoot better. Glad you are on the mend!

Thats the outlook I have come around to.

There will always be time for the gun stuff.

Until there is not. If you enjoy something, don't shelf it for the "right time". There are no "do overs" even if we get more than one chance that its not the end.

Sorry to hear about your difficulties but it sounds like you are on the road to recovery. Take it easy and approach everything with caution. Best Wishes............

🙏

For your healing, happiness and long term health.

I hope to read a range report when you get back from your first trip back out there.

Stay safe.
