Hi Ya'll.
I am in possession of my Great Grandmother's storied pistol, a Hopkins & Allen XL No. 5 .38 S&W. A classic example of a "Suicide Special" of the late 19th Century that did yeoman's service protecting her home on at least one occasion.
Somewhere along the line the hammer cracked, right where the arbor screw passes through. Thus, the hammer will not cock.
Now I know that it is probably for the best that it does not work, as shooting it would be a bad idea. But for some irrational reason I just want to get it back to working condition.
I've looked at Numrich, and done several Google searches, but I can't seem to find anything.
Is there any hope besides fabricating a new one?
