Hornady 30-30 Brass Priming Problem

I am trying to prime some once fired Hornady 30-30 brass with my RCBS hand primer. I am using Winchester Large Rifle primers and for some reason the primer won't go into the primer pocket of the brass.

I have only loaded pistol ammo, so there must be something I am doing wrong.

I did clean the primer pockets.

You might need to ream the primer pockets ever so slightly.

Did you put the Lg primer seating punch in the tool when you changed primer sizes?

Do you have the correct shell holder for 30-30 in the hand primer tool?

Primer pocket uniformer will clean those up.

The RCBS has a universal shell holder. I did change out a plastic piece from small primers to large primers. The post does not seem to be able to be switched.

You have to change out the primer feed, #4,5,6,7, as well as the Sm #23, or Lg #20 primer seat plug.

Thanks for the heads up. I switched out the primer seat plug to the large plug. I had already switched out the plastic feed box to the large box.

I can seat the large rifle primers now, but it just takes quite a bit of force to seat them in the primer pockets. They don't push in as easy as small pistol primers.
