Does anyone use this machine? There's one in a local second hand store for $189 with lots of accessories. All my shotgun reloading has been done with a MEC 600 Jr., but now I'm thinking VOLUME....

My son picked up oneof these used, the old Pacific Model and I had a chance to play with it extensively while adjusting and setting it up for him. I would guess the one he had was easily capable of producing 350 shells an hour and it did not have the automatic ejection on it, due to its age.
I think that's a reasonable price, as a new one is about 400 dollar retail. I certainly would snatch it up if I wanted to progressively load shotshells.

360??? Do you really mean the 366? Maybe what Dave is saying, the 360 MAY be a predecessor of the 366?
Anyway I have had a 366 for10 years or more----, it is a good machine "for it's age"! By that I mean it's age of creation, the mid 60's. Then, it was a machine to compare others to. Now it's outdated by the MEC 9000, RCBS and dillon progressives. It does NOT have shell sensors for the shot and powder drops. If you don't mnanually turn off the shot/powder dispensors when there's no shell present, you WILL have a mess to clean up. There's no a way to empty the shot/powder tubes while still on the machine. BUT once those two problems are learned, it will produce a lot of ammo in a short time. I like mine a lot, but wish for a better machine.

It's the Model 366 originally made by Pacific and that Hornady now makes as the Hornady 366. Not sure about case activation, but I do know it's a pretty decent machine, though fairly simple. It's a pretty good deal for the price you'd pay, because support is still available for the machine, along with parts. You may even be able to upgrade some things.
If I were you, I'd pick it up, then call Hornady and find out what it has and what it doesn't have upgrade wise.

I used to use the MEC 600 jr. many years ago. For the last 30, I've been using a MEC Grabber 76. If I were to upgrade tomorrow, it would be the MEC 9000- whether I got a deal on it or not. The truth is, that's probably not gonna happen. I shoot nothing but sporting clays, and when you can get imported shotgun ammo for $33/flat (250), and shot going for $25 a bag, I just can't reload that cheap. Even if someone were giving me free AA hulls, I probably still wouldn't.

That kinda says it all, don't it? About the only reason to reload shotgun based on that is to reload specialty rounds on a used single stage you picked up somewhere.
