Has anyone used the Hornady 7mm - 150gr GMX for a 7mm Rem Mag? I just ordered a box of 50 to test with. Here in CA, only all copper bullets are allowed for hunting and I'll probably use this bullet for pig hunting. Does anyone have a load table for this bullet using H4831sc or R22? These are the powders I currently have to work with.

It’ll be plenty for pigs, the consensus is the lighter weight mono metal bullets punch well above their weight class. Many guys are shooting 139/140 gr 7mm mono metals with 7mm08-7x57 rifles at elk with good results, those 150’s should punch right through piggies from just about any angle..

I, too have a big jug of R-22 I’m planning on loading for my 7mm RM behind some 7mm 160 gr ballistic tips. I’ll be starting at 59.5 grains and going up .5 at a time towards 64.5 to see which is the most accurate.

Sadly I don’t have any loads yet for the 150 gmx in the 7mmRM and I don’t see anything published for that particular bullet. You may have to start at lighter loads for a 175 and watch for pressure signs as you work up a .5 gr ladder.

I have used R-22 in .270 and 6.5x55 with great results. A really good powder indeed!

Good luck finding a load.

Stay safe.
