I have a Hornady LNL I primarily load 45ACP. I'm looking to set it up for .223. Currently i load my .223 on a Lee pro 1K, with Lee dies. I don't have any Hornady rifle dies. Can i use Lee dies on the Hornady LNL? I don't mind getting Hornady Dies, it just leads to another question. On Hornady's site they ahve 2 different types of dies, whats the difference between the regular, the custom, and match? Also other sites have a Hornady .223 seriesI and seriesII, what are those? The .223 is for an AR so I'd rather full length size, its what i do now and it works in the AR.

I need a rifle die translator.

The Lee dies will work just fine on your Hornady L-N-L progressive. You will probably want to get a set of the L-N-L bushings to make die changes easier.

In fact, just about any die with a 7/8"-14 thread will work on just about any press that has a 7/8"-14 thread.

I have Lee, Dillon, RCBS, Redding, C&H, Forster, and Hornady dies I use on my LNL. I had to get creative on the lock nut for some older dies, but they all work just fine.

The Lee dies work fine. If the lock nut doesn't have enough threads with the O-ring in place, turn it upside down and it will work fine. You can also buy the Hornady Lock Rings, but I just flip the Lee rings over and they hold just fine.
