Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Neither of my books have data for 230 gr Hornady HAP and W231 for .45ACP.

One has 225 gr JHP and 230 gr TMJ the other has a generic 230 gr jacketed, and a 230 gr XTP. I'm assuming since they are so similar XTP data is what I'd want to use, but that book only has data for Accurate #7 powder.

Will be using mixed 1x brass (mostly RP & WIN HS), Hornady HAP 230 gr, W231, & Winchester standard LPP. Will be shooting from 4" & 5" 1911's. Where should I look for data for this combination? This is my first time loading .45ACP (or any pistol cartridge).

Also, is there a more comprehensive source of data other than the two I have - they both seem to be lacking. I have the Lee Modern Reloading 2nd ed. & Lyman 49th ed. I've gotta say from all the recs for Lyman #49 I'm finding it quite a disappointment. The upfront instructional stuff is great, but when it comes to actual data it doesn't have much for some very common stuff like .223, .45ACP, 9mm, .380, etc.

There is no reason you cannot use data for other 230 Gr bullets of similar style. Start low and work up. 5.0 Grs of W-231 will make a nice range load. 5.5 will give you more pop, and will probably give in the 750 to 800 FPS range. These two loads are widely used with 230 Gr bullets (Lead, plated, or jacketed) and W-231 in the .45 ACP. I have gone as high as 6.2 Grs W-231 with a jacketed 230 Gr bullet, but it is real snappy, and over much of the published W-231 data these days.

In their manual, Hornady uses the same load data and COL for the 230gr HAP as it does for the 230gr XTP and their 230gr FMJ-RN.

Edit......they give 5.0 min to 5.7 max of W231 @ 1.230'' I have found 5.6 shoots very well outta my 5'' Colt Government.
