I've been doing quite a bit of 9mm load development lately and the two bullets that work best in my guns are the hornady hap 125gr and montana gold jhp 124gr. I can use them pretty much interchangeably, same charge, same oal, same velocity, even the same seating die setup. Even the accuracy seems to be the same, or at least to the limits of me and my equipment. Has anybody else found out they can use these two bullets interchangeably with similar results/findings?

I used to produce a fair amount of 9mm XTP rounds. Very accurate in my guns. After a time I discovered Montana Gold. They are just about the same bullet dimensionally. There might be a miniscule reduction in accuracy, relatively speaking... or it might just be in my head. Either way, very good bullets for target use.

I went from Hornady to Montana and am now using the Blue Bullets - coated lead. Much cheaper and just as accurate for competitive shooting (at least for me).

That's good others can verify it since the Montana Bullets can save me a good amount of cash. Might just have to order up a large quantity and use them for a while. My loaded round count is getting low so I have to order one or the other.

Look into the coated bullets if you want to save even more cash. They are very accurate and can be pushed to pretty good velocities. I've shot many in competitions and done well with them. If you don't need jacketed for some reason, they are a good, less expensive option.

I'm using the MBC coated 124g round nose. They shoot great with 5.8g of HS-6 under them.
