Hornady HAP Bullets?

They are a modified XTP bullet
I been loading 115 gr HAP using Hornady XTP data or data for other 115 gr bullets
Start low & work up slowly.
About as accurate as XTP bullets

I have 115 and 125 grain HAP's in 9mm. Powder Valley normally has good pricing on these. They are pretty accurate also. My gun shoots Sierra 125HP better but the HAP's are cheaper.

I used them for years for an odd reason. I shot ppc and my 38 spec clark ppc gun just loved the 120 grain 9mm bullet for some reason. It was the hands down most accurate bullet in that gun. To be honest i dont know what even made me try them and i almost wished it wouldnt have been the case because i can cast bullets for about nothing. As to there expansion i did some testing on them out of 9s and they expanded just as well as xtps if not a little more. I reas somewhere that there nothing but xtps they dont go through the expense swaging a crimp grove on.

Boy, the data is really different than with "normal" bullets. I saw a recipe in 9mm the other day that was especially goofy.

just an xtp without cannelure or cuts in the jacket. They are being used since last year in alot of muzzleloading sabot ammo sold at walmart in the last year. kind of ugly , but supposedly as accurate as xtps. just cheaper to make and purchase.

Have used HAPs in 9mm in pistol and carbine. They run well, very accurate. Bought in bulk, they are worth buying. Otherwise, I will stick with Bayou and Xtreme for target bullets at a lower cost.

I like these a lot...I use the 180 gr. HAP for 10mm. I've loaded some as .40S&W, but would rather shoot them in a 10mm cartridge instead :D
