I was wondering if the Hornady lnl classic single stage press would make a good companion for my LNL AP? I’m thinking a single stage for those miscellaneous tasks where a single stage press may be more appropriate than a progressive press – working up low quantity loads, decaping, sizing rifle brass etc. I do have an old Lee challenger single stage but it doesn’t seem very robust, although I will admit that it has worked for past reloading activities, mostly. It's a little touch and go when resizing some rifle brass.
I have all hornady dies and lnl bushings for each die for all the calibers I load and I’m wondering if they will transfer over to the Hornady lnl single stage press? I realize they will fit the single stage but do they transfer over from the AP without needing re-adjustment? I suspect this is unlikely but thought I’d ask. If they need adjustment each time they are used on the single stage (and vice versa) I guess I’m wondering if the lnl feature is still much of a time saver in this scenario?
In the same vein I’m curious if things like the powder dispenser from the AP fit/work on the classic?
It looks like the Hornady lnl classic is currently $130 at Midway and Amazon (free shipping at Amazon), and shell holders are roughly $5-$8 each.
Midway has it on ‘Clearance’; does that mean that a new model may be coming out soon?
If you own a Hornady lnl classic single stage how do you like it?
Thanks
