I just about have my LNL Ap set up. I bought it used from a fellow THR member.

I have the primer system working fine but I have a question for you veteran LNL users.

The spent primer tube did not have a cap on it like my Lee turret. How do you capture the primers so they do not just fall out.. I watched the Hornady video on setup and even they lost their spent primer on the floor..

I was thinking about finding a plug to put over the end of the tube like the Lee or getting a longer tube to let it fall into a box..

I'm sure I can work this out but I'm just curious as to what everyone else is using.

I'm really excited about this reloader and my case feeder will arrive this week.

Thanks for any input,

Don't plug, you'll just end up with a backup at an inappropriate time. There should have been a long, flexible piece of tubing in the kit - fit one end over the tube and the other hangs into a suitable container to ccatch the spent primers.

I have a plastic Folgers coffee can at the bottom. It collects spent primers. I did use a water bottle, but it can get full quick and isn't light.

In the 6 months I've had my LnL AP, I've apparently processed enough brass to fill a large Folgers coffee can :)

I have an empty shot bag attached to my press stand with a 1" metal tube in the top. The plastic tube from the L-N-L's primer catcher extends into the metal tube and slides up and down as the press operates.

Any suitable container would work, I just have a supply of empty shot bags in inventory.

Plastic tie wraps, aka wire ties, are wonderful devices.

I alternate between using a 5 gallon bucket on the floor under the press with the tube in the bucket, and just sticking a pencil in the end of the tube to plug it.

Just remember to empty the tube before the used primers back up into the press!

Good luck!

I do the same as CAPreppy, i use a large plastic Folgers can, i cut a small hole in the lid, and it is slowly filling up. Right now, I have about 3000 spent primers in there, its impressive to open it up and see them all in there.

Get a plastic jar with a lid. Drill a hole in the lid that the tube will fit tight in. Set it on the floor or the lower part of your bench if it has one.

I use a very small jar that slides straight onto the primer drop tube ala the old Projector. I have to empty it often though.

I did similar to what Walkalong did. I got tired of kicking a bucket of primers and scattering them all over the floor. I took a small 4oz size bottle and drilled a hole in the top that was smaller than the tubing so it would be a tight fit. I then put a hose clamp on the tubing inside the lid. Now the bottle is secured to the tubing. The tubing needs to be long enough for the bottle to set on the floor if not it will impact the priming station. The bottle goes up and down with the press operations. If you kick it it just moves around and no harm. I have switched to RX bottles, so I just put the lid on and on to the recycler it goes. After about 1000 primers I empty the bottle, it starts getting heavy at that point.
