Hi everyone, I own a Hornady lock-n-load classic press and the “conversion bushing” as Hornady calls it keeps unscrewing.

There are no wrench flats on either the conversion bushings or the die bushings so I’m not sure how to tighten it down.

What’s the proper way to fix this?

Thank you,

Dan

Couple of options. Call, or email, Hornady. Put drop of blue, or weaker, loctite on it. Red, or green, if you want to make it permanent.

lnspect the threads and look for cracks. Unlikely anything like that is wrong. Doesn’t hurt to check.

Thank you dannyd! That was exactly the information I needed. Inserting the bushing from underneath does the trick. I just degreased the threads and am waiting for everything to dry. Will to put a drop of blue loctite on before I tighten it down.

I appreciate everyone’s help!

Dan

I have over 200 bushing, so I have had a lot of practice with this. White glue will also work. :)

I was thinking Teflon tape would be easy cheap and fast.

That works too, I have tried a good many different fixes on my LNL's; have two LNL's plus single stage press. Loaded 111,807 rounds on all three of them so far getting ready to load another 100 later today. For the most they are easy to work on.

And yes I know there Not Blue. :)

5 minutes with a file and you can have wrench flats on a die bushing that you can then use to tighten your conversion bushing.
