I ordered some PPU 150 grain .311 bullets for my 7.62x39 and Argentine Mauser. When they came. I noticed they were longer than Speer flat bottom bullets.(boat tail) I had an idea what to do as far as loads. Drop the staring data by 2 grains. And load at that. But i wanted to be sure i was correct. Looking through my books couldn't find any boat tail loads. Then i grabbed one of my Hornady manuals. And they had boat tail bullets listed. My idea was right. It's always good to verify too.

I have a few manuals that I keep... not because I like them, or even use them regularly, but when I have a load question and I need all the data I can get me hands on, they serve their purpose. It's nice, now, that there is so much data available online... that saves some money and shelf space. :)
