I know I'm posting a bit late to this thread, but I thought I would add what I have learned about the Hornady PTX, for the sake of those who find this thread while researching the product.
I have the Hornady PTX for my LNL-AP. I immediately had problems with it. To be clear, the part I have has no ability to flare the case, whatsoever. The end that goes into the case is rounded on the end, and is .352in in diameter from where the rounded part ends to the first 90 degree step, where the case mouth stops. This may adjust the inside of the case to a good diameter for gripping the seated bullet, but provides no assistance when seating the bullet. If a jacketed or plated bullet with a rounded or bevelled bottom is being seated, this may present no problem whatsoever, but I, unfortunately, am not using such bullets. I'm using .356in lead bullets and .355in flat bottomed, jacketed hollow points. The lead bullet gets its lube grooves shaved off and the jacketed bullet cuts a narrow notch out of the side of the case about every other time.
On a more positive note, I love my press. It's built like a tank. With the exception of an occasional hang-up of the priming system, which may be operator induced (not sure yet), I have discovered no other flaws. I have the part sold at PowderFunnels.com on order, which, by all accounts, will solve my flaring problem handily. Also, the powder-through flaring is only important if you want to use both a taper crimp die and the powder cop die. If either of those isn't important to you, then there are enough stations to install the flaring die that came with your die set, which is what I'm using for now.
If anyone from Hornady reads this post, please modify this part so that it is capable of flaring the case. It is of no use to me, in its current form.
